This Pakistani rug has been hand-knotted using traditional techniques and crafted from carefully selected wool. The fine knotting and stable cotton foundation give the rug a refined structure, excellent durability, and a pleasant feel underfoot.

Characteristic of Pakistani rugs are their harmonious patterns and rich color tones, often featuring deep shades of red complemented by subtle accents in beige, blue, or dark brown. These classic designs are inspired by traditional Oriental and Persian motifs, giving the rug a timeless and elegant appearance.

Thanks to its dense knotting and robust craftsmanship, this Pakistani rug is well suited for both living spaces and areas with higher foot traffic, such as hallways or entryways. At the same time, its balanced design allows it to blend seamlessly into both classic and modern interiors.

Each rug is a handcrafted unique piece, reflecting skilled workmanship and long-standing weaving traditions. A Pakistani rug is an excellent choice for those who value durability, refined design, and authentic hand-knotted quality.

Pakistani rug

A large portion of Pakistan’s rug production takes place in and around the cities of Lahore and Karachi. Many of the rug weavers from that time fled to Pakistan during the war with India and settled there. Today, hand-knotted Pakistan Bokhara rugs are especially well known. Similar to Afghan oriental rugs, Pakistani rugs also feature dark color tones and are usually dominated by shades of red. The well-known elephant’s foot pattern (a repeating octagonal motif) can also be found on a Pakistani rug.

Natural Wool and Pure Silk

A combination of what are arguably the finest qualities of sheep’s wool and pure silk. Natural wool is known for its exceptional durability, dirt-resistant properties, and thermal insulation. At the same time, the silk content creates a unique sheen that seems to glow from the right angle. Silk accents add striking highlights to the design, creating a true wow effect. Even today, silk remains a symbol of pure luxury. It is carefully harvested by hand and woven into textile fibers.

Hand-knotted

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still represent the highest quality standard among all types of rugs today. Depending on the knotting technique, these rugs are extremely durable and can last for generations. The finer and tighter a rug is knotted, the more detailed the ornaments and patterns that can be displayed in the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires significantly more manual work as well as a higher level of experience and skill from the weaver. Knot density therefore also serves as a key value factor for hand-knotted rugs. However, quality is not directly related to knot density. A more coarsely knotted rug can still be made in excellent quality.

Care & Fair

Uniq Rugs supports CARE & FAIR, an organization that brings rug retailers together to support children from rug-weaving families in India and Pakistan. Its mission is to help provide a safe childhood and improve the long-term well-being of these children and their families.
