The story of UniqRugs began long before the company was founded. The previous generation of the Naeini family was already closely connected to the traditional rug trade. Knowledge of materials, origins, quality, and craftsmanship was passed down over decades.
In 1998, Reza Naeini founded UniqRugs in Hamburg. Originally, the focus was on the wholesale of high-quality hand-knotted rugs. Close relationships with producers and workshops created a network that still forms the foundation of our company today.
With the next generation joining the business, Ali Naeini and Amin Naeini continued to develop the company and successfully brought UniqRugs into the digital world. What began as a specialized wholesale business grew into one of Europe’s largest online retailers of handmade rugs.
